Trumpf laser cutter and punch press monitoring for Stannah

stanThe Stannah name has become synonymous with stair lifts although its origins are in hoist, crane and lift manufacture. Founded in 1867 the company now supplies its products Worldwide from its base in Andover, UK. The company has been heavily committed to continuous improvement since 1999.

In order to maximise utilisation and capacity on high value capital equipment and ensure best return on investment the company has invested in a PlantRun system for down time and asset utilization monitoring, initially on four key assets including two Trumpf laser cutters and two Trumpf turret punch presses.

Advantage is also being taken of other PlantRun facilities including SMS text and email alerts to speed response to production disturbances as they occur. A large format display in the production area is used to communicate live target and actual production data to inform and motivate staff.

Update.

Since initial implementation new facilities have been added including Engineer Response Tracking and SmartView.

Engineer Response Tracking provides accurate real time data on the time taken to attend to breakdowns and repair machines. SmartView allows key production metrics to be accessed on smart phones and tablets.

The company has also added a press brake and paint plant to the system as well as thirteen manual assembly cells, each with large screen production performance display.

Similar to Trump, Bystronic and Amada equipment has also been successfully monitored by PlantRun systems.
