Bottling line OEE system for International Drinks Group

As a result of month on month improvements in OEE enabled by a PlantRun system at John Dewar and Sons Ltd (JDSL) Glasgow site Bacardi Group has implemented PlantRun at Martini Rossi SPA Italy.

The system was installed in two stages across bottling lines at the company’s site at Pessione, near Turin.

The system supplied to JDSL uses PlantRun DTM04 Outstations for operator interaction and capture of signals from line sensors - click to view JDSL system overview

At Pessione the system communicates directly with Siemens PLCs on the line equipment over LAN from a virtual server running the software.
The PLCs provide product counts, run stop status and downtime codes automatically without the need for operator intervention. Where operator interaction is required the system is accessed on existing PCs in the production area.

Assets include depalletizer, rinser, warmer tunnel, wirehoods machine, labeller, dryer, case packer, capsuler and palletizer.

Tascomp engineers provided on-site engineering support for system commissioning and on going technical support is provided by remote access directly from Tascomp in the UK.
